Candice and Darren married @ Simon's Groot Constantia

It was a stormy day in Constantia when Candice and Darren tied the knot.  Candice is the most bubbly, positive person I have ever met and with a whole couple of things not going quite according to plan, including the rain, she just took everything in her stride.  What an amazing girl!  What I loved about this wedding, was that it was a truly joyous celebration.  When the music started, everyone was on the dance floor, and I mean EVERYONE.  Young and old all partying the night away.  I loved it.  And then of course there was Candice's dress...!

Karin and Herman's Wedding!

I get to meet such amazing people!  Karin and Herman is just a lovely couple, so relaxed, so great together and it was such a privilege to be part of their special day.  You can check out their engagement shoot which was recently featured on the Cap Classique Wedding Blog here (it is one of my favourite e-sessions!).  Also, Lizel from Visual Eye Productions did an amazing job with their video - click on this link to see the preview!

Sonja and Willie's Karoo Wedding!

There are so many things I loved about this wedding. Sonja and Madri, one of her best friends and bridesmaids, designed and made Sonja’s gorgeous dress together.  How’s that for talented!  They got married on Willie’s family’s farm, Elandsfontein, and the décor from Leengoed, looked absolutely amazing.  This was also the first wedding my husband assisted me J  and he was just fantastic.  I am so blessed!  We had a wonderful time, and this was a day just overflowing with emotion, happiness and beautiful little details.  We also ended up having four seasons in one day, rain, wind, some sunshine, dark clouds, some blue skies and that is why I love this first picture so much.  We were literally driving out from beneath a dark cloud after the ceremony on our way to Elandsfontein!

Bridal Portraits - JP Uys Wedding Workshop

Earlier in September I was fortunate enough to attend JP Uys' wedding workshop.  I have been a fan of JP's work ever since I can remember and was super exited to learn from him.  It was 2 days of pure inspiration and encouragement from JP.  Bonus was meeting and getting to know some tremendous photographers and leaving with a few more friendships.  A truly wonderful & inspirational experience!

Mia & Endri's Wedding @ Zevenwacht Estate

I met Mia in the hallways of Nerina (many years ago...) when we were in res together at university.  We lost contact through the years but how awesome for me to be able to photograph Mia and Endri's wedding!  Mia knew me as "Adri van Niekerk" (my maiden name) and I think at about the 2nd or 3rd email, we actually realised who the other one was - so funny.   It was a wonderful day, got to know Endri in the process as well, who is an awesome guy, reconnected with an old friend and had a blast!  Thanks to Alitha from Lensflair Photography for doing an awesome job on the second shooting!

Mr & Mrs Berry!

Sam and Warren got married at Kelvin Grove this September and it was a true celebration.  The two of  them, better known as "Team Berry" to friends, are just an amazing couple that have so much love and care for everyone around them.  May your love for each other and for God continue to grow and you be blessed as you are a blessing to others.

Natalie and Andrew's Wedding at Houtbay Manor

I get to meet the most amazing people and spend a day in their inner circle.  What a privilege!  Andrew and Natalie thank you so much for having me.  It was wonderful to capture your special day filled with so much joy and laughter.  I wish you so much happiness and joy as a family and a couple!

Saying “I do” in the Karoo…

It has been a crazy year thus far, especially the last couple of months with us moving (extended 3 month saga) and all the drama that went with it.  I am happy to report that we are in our house!  Not quite settled, but that will come in time. J  Amongst it all two of my friends got married in a small little town in the Karoo called Britstown - a week apart?!  What are the odds of that happening?  But it did and as I was to be photographing both of them it was just as if the universe was saying, go stay for a week in the Karoo! 

And what a week my husband and I ended up having.  We fell in love with the Karoo and the people of Britstown.  Beautiful landscapes, gorgeous sunsets, warm friendly loveable people and just pure joy.  God is in our people and in our land.  His glory surrounds us. We must just open our eyes daily to see it and take it in.  Loose the clutter.

I have come back inspired, rested and excited to edit two beautiful weddings.  On the way back yesterday I was all teary eyed and filled with emotion by what I have experienced and how I was touched.

My blog is a bit behind and I will be updating it in the coming weeks with weddings of last month and before but in the meantime I leave you with a couple of images of the Karoo.

Leigh & Clayton's E-session

I adore the sea…it’s gorgeous, powerful and always reminds me of how awesome and great our God is.  I had a wonderful time with Leigh & Clayton at Blaauwberg for their engagement shoot.  They are such a lovely couple!
